Computer Based Management Information System (CBMIS)
As such these offices should maintain the database of the respective societies under their jurisdiction. Similarly, the DOC HQ in Dhaka is the apex authority for overall management and monitoring of all societies. The CBMIS for cooperative societies can be used to get instant and online information of every individual registered societies, to generate automated annual reports of cooperative sector and any other reports of cooperative activities in Bangladesh.
The CBMIS has designed, upgraded and maintained to meet the demand of real-time on-line support for both administrators and users of cooperative societies. Therefore, database and application software for CBMIS including necessary data collection, data entry, operation and maintenance of database and application software and reporting has also been designed with the online system
The new CBMIS system provides the Head of co-operative user with online individual co-operative information and yearly data collection and management options. The CBMIS system is an independent system. Besides, a dynamic web portal of DOC will interacts with the CBMIS system, which provides several types of report from central database system of CBMIS (e.g. Oracle 11g). Dynamic web portal has its own database (e.g. MySql). The system context diagram is shown in Fig 6.1.
The CBMIS and dynamic web portal system will install in a different server. Dynamic web portal sends a request to CBMIS, and web portal extracts the information from the CBMIS and represent data into DOC format. No data can be store or modified by dynamic web portal to CBMIS.
The CBMIS system consists two main parts -- a central database management system for the storage, and management of co-operative data, and a client application to allow co-operative users access and interact with the data. Different end-users level can access, search, analyze, visualize, download, and report various types of integrated co-operative data contributed from the multiple locations. Types of data will include co-operative primary data, co-operative annual data (i.e. Co-operative status, Member status and their debt-due to co-operative, co-operative receipt and disbursement, etc.), user management, etc.
